Former MP G Made Gowda died after a protracted sickness at a hospital in Mandya, Karnataka, on Saturday.
Based on hospital officers, he was present process therapy for lung illness.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, in his condolence message, stated Made Gowda imbibed the teachings of Gandhi.
Mr Yediyurappa additionally stated that G Made Gowda was on the forefront of the Cauvery river water sharing distribution agitations.
Made Gowda, who took half within the freedom battle, was imprisoned for varied durations between 1942 and 1947.
He was six-time MLA from Kirugavalu Meeting constituency between 1962 and 1989 and was elected to the ninth and tenth Lok Sabha.
