The Particular Job Pressure (STF) of Kolkata Police arrested a drug peddler within the metropolis and seized heroin value almost Rs 26 crore from his possession, a senior officer stated on Sunday.
Appearing on a tip-off, sleuths of the STF detained the Durgapur-based ”needed” drug peddler when he was driving a bike on EM Bypass close to Captain Bheri below Pragati Maidan Police Station space on Saturday midnight, he stated.
“We seized from his possession heroin weighing around 5.177 kg having a market value of Rs 25.88 crore in the international grey market,” the police officer stated.
The accused has been booked below related sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Narcotic Medicine and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
