Non-Bailable Warrant Towards Congress Chief Salman Khurshid’s Spouse

A neighborhood court docket has issued a non-bailable warrant towards Louise Khurshid, spouse of former Union minister and Congress chief Salman Khurshid, in a case of misappropriation of over Rs 71 lakh acquired in central grants by Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Belief run by her.

Chief Judicial Justice of the Peace Praveen Kumar Tyagi issued the non-bailable warrant towards Louise Khurshid and Belief secretary Athar Farooqui and stuck August 16 as the subsequent date for listening to.

In March 2010, the Belief had acquired a grant of Rs 71.50 lakh from the central authorities for the distribution of wheelchairs, tricycles and listening to aids amongst bodily challenged individuals in 17 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Later, allegations of corruption and forgery have been levelled towards the Belief’s office-bearers in 2012 when Salman Khurshid was a minister within the then UPA authorities. Nevertheless, the Khurshids had denied any wrongdoing.

The Financial Offences Wing began a probe and in June 2017, Inspector Ram Shankar Yadav registered an FIR towards Lousie Khurshid and Athar Farooqui in Kayamganj police station right here.

Louise Khurshid was the mission director of the Belief.

The cost sheet within the case was filed on December 30, 2019.

It was alleged that signatures of senior officers of Uttar Pradesh have been cast and their pretend seals have been used to obtain grants from the Union authorities for the welfare of the disabled.

The belief had mentioned it had organised camps for differently-abled youngsters throughout over a dozen districts – Etah, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, Meerut, Bareilly, Moradabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Rampur, Sant Kabir Nagar and Allahabad — of UP for the distribution of apparatus.

It was claimed that the gear was distributed amongst youngsters and Louise Khurshid had verified it because the director of the Belief in Could 2010.

Nevertheless, it was later alleged that camps for the disabled allegedly existed solely on paper.
