Punjab Forest Division will conduct an investigation into dying of 400 parrots in Faridkot

The Nationwide Inexperienced Tribunal has directed the Punjab Forest Division to conduct an investigation into the dying of round 400 parrots in Faridkot and verify the rationale of their fatality.

A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel requested Chief WildLife Warden, Punjab in coordination with the setting division to take remedial motion within the matter.

“From the material filed, it is difficult to give a clear finding as to why death of parrots is taking place. However, the reason for death of such large number of birds may need to be looked into.

“Accordingly, we direct Chief Wildlife Warden, Punjab in coordination with Atmosphere Division or another Professional, to look into the matter and take remedial motion within the matter,” the bench stated.

The tribunal was listening to a plea filed by advocate H C Arora searching for a path to stop dying of parrots within the compound of the workplace of Deputy Commissioner, Faridkot which gave the impression to be on account of spray of some chemical substances.

Based on the applicant, such deaths are going down since 2017 yearly which is duly revealed within the media however no remedial motion is taken.

Mr Arora contended that 400 parrots died on June 11 below varied Jamun bushes in Faridkot, allegedly resulting from some chemical spray having being sprinkled on jamun bushes.

Mr Arora has additionally sought sought instructions to the state authorities in opposition to allowing spray of chemical substances on Jamun bushes on the federal government land at Faridkot.
